NAMI FSG is well into their second year offering the NAMI Family Support Group in Cape May County for adults who have a loved one with a mental health condition. There is no charge for the group, which we're always looking to expand because we know there is need. (The National Institute of Mental Health estimates one in five people experience a mental health condition every year.)

Faith-Based Community Resource Advisory Round Table​​
March 26, 2025 6 - 7:30PM Tabernacle United Methodist Church, Erma, in conjunction with the Lower Township Healthy Youth Coalition, will host its next quarterly Faith-Based Community Resource Advisory Round Table (FBCRA) 6PM - 7:30PM on March 26, 2025. Cape May Community Food Closet of Cape May County and The Branches, Rio Grande, will be presenting on programs and partnerships that addresses food insecurity in Cape May County. Round table discussion to follow. The FBCRA is convened quarterly by the Lower Township Healthy Youth Coalition in partnership with Tabernacle UMC church with the purpose of sharing information with the public, identifying trends and needs in the faith-based community resource organizations, and networking through the common goal of supporting vulnerable youth and families living in the greater Lower Township community. Meeting is free and open to the public.

Adolescent Cannabis, Tobacco and Other Drug Use: What's Going On and What Can We Do?
April 8 10am Virtual meeting
New tobacco/nicotine, cannabis, and other drugs are infiltrating the market, including new disposable e-cigarettes, e-cigarettes shaped like watches, highlighters, and other household products, “non-nicotine” e-cigarettes, cannabis edibles, psychedelics, and fentanyl. This presentation will provide a brief overview of these products, including nicotine and THC levels, addiction, and other health effects, health concerns, as well as marketing of these products. The presentation will then focus on how best to educate, prevent, and reduce use, including several Stanford REACH Lab-created evidence-based curriculums and resources that can be used to help prevent and reduce use. By the end of this talk, attendees will: Understand and be able to recognize different substances that youth are using. Understand harms associated with different drugs Know about and how to use our REACH Lab prevention and intervention curriculums and resources.

The Military Strengthening Families Program (MSFP) is an evidence-based family skills training program that is recognized nationally and internationally. Families with children ages 10–14years of age attend weekly MSFP skills sessions, to increase family bonding. Participants will learn positive parenting, communication, decision-making and discipline skills to improve their family dynamics. Join us in strengthening the bonds that matter most to you and your family!
