Additions this week – Upcoming Events    ​​

  • April 21st and 22nd .​ The Cape Community College Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that we have selected four finalists for the next President of Atlantic Cape Community College.  Open Forums to meet the candidates will be held on April 21st and 22nd .​

  • ​April 21th - annual Family Fun Night Under the Stars, free event at ACCC in Cape May Court House.

  • April 26th  - Ladies L.E.A.D. Mentoring Program Tea Party at First Baptist Church of Whitesboro.

  • May 1st - Habitat for Humanity Benefit Concert Please join us on Friday May 1st for a special evening of music performed by renowned concert pianist Jim-Isaac Chau.  He will be performing timeless works of Chopin, Schubert and Brahams creating an intimate and interactive concert experience.  This benefit concert supports Habitat for Humanity Cape May County and our mission to bring people together to build homes, communities and hope. 

    •  Doors open at 5:30 pm, concert starts 6pm.

    • Habitat has 2 homes in development now in West Cape May and many more in various stages of planning, development, surveys, etc.  This fundraiser will help defray costs for our construction projects, which will help us provide safe, affordable housing for hardworking families in Cape May County.

  • ​May 13th - Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) free training hosted by Cape Assist. This is a certification course. Registration and more info www.capeassist.org/YMHFA â€‹â€‹

  • May 16th - Atlantic City Electric is hosting an upcoming Appliance Recycling Drop-Off Event on May 16 at the Lowe’s in Rio Grande, NJ. For a limited time, Atlantic City Electric customers can receive up to $50 for every old, working appliance they recycle at the event.  See the flyer in upcoming events for more info.

  • May 4th  start - Free family dinner and workshop - Strengthening Families Program (SFP), hosted by Cape Assist at Shore Family Success Center. A seven session program to enhance family bonding, skills, etc. $$ incentive for completing the program. 

  • May 5th start - WISE program for older adults, hosted by Cape Assist at Haven House in North Cape May. 7-week program about healthy aging, lunch is provided, $$ incentive for completing  the program.

  • May 7th start - Caregiver Support Group, virtual, hosted by Cape Assist. 4-week program for those who are caring for a loved one or a patient. $$ incentive for completing the program.

  • May 9th 4:30 to 6:30   Cape May Kiwanis Open House & Ribbon Cutting

  • NAMI Atlantic Cape May will be having various activities to build awareness around May Is Mental Health Awareness Month. Our mission is to improve the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness through support, education, advocacy and public awareness. This May we have weekly programs planned that address various topics related to mental health. All programs are FREE.

  • Affordable Housing Opportunity announcement by Habitat for Humanity of Cape May County

    • The application process for 2 homes in West Cape May is now open!     Please feel free to share this information with anyone who may be in need of stable, affordable housing in Cape May County. 

    • Some important information for you in case you have any questions:​

      • 1.  Interested candidates can download the application from our website or, they can pick up an application from the ReStore (at the front counter) or at West Cape May Boro Hall.   There are some specific guidelines we must adhere to. 

      • 2.  Applications MUST BE MAILED to the address on the flyer. We are not accepting any applications at this location, and can not accept a completed or partially completed application from anyone. Instructions on the flyer must be followed.

      • 3.  In accordance with NJ law, we are forbidden to provide any additional information - we can simply encourage people to fill out the application to see if they are eligible.

  • Tabernacle scheduled Community Awareness / Support events Winter  Spring 2026​​

    • Tabernacle Speaker Season 2025 - 2026 is over until the fall. We will begin bringing in Speakers in September!  

    •  

    • We will kick off the 2026 - 2027 Tabernacle Speaker Season on September 16th at 6pm @ Tabernacle UMC  with Jodi Corbett, Lower Township Healthy Youth Coalition Coordinator. presenting on LTHYC's involvement in support of the youth in our community.


    • The Lower Township Healthy Youth Coalition’s mission is to reduce substance use by planning and implementing strategies that focus on reducing youth substance use through community collaboration and environmental change.
      The coalition brings community members together to create and promote an alcohol, tobacco, and a drug-free environment for the youths of Lower Township by focusing on the following:​

    • Works to change the way the communities view alcohol, tobacco, and drug misuse by being a resource for current information, and by providing evidence-based programs and education.

    • Assists in the community with prevention planning and technical assistance to implement drug-free events and programming.

    • Fosters community involvement and works to strengthen our neighborhoods by encouraging partnerships between local organizations and individuals.

    • Encourages our youth to be substance-free and offers them opportunities to make a difference in their community.
